Stock value at cost = quantity × cost price, added up for every item. That is money you have already paid out and will only get back when it sells. At sale price, the gap is the profit still to come.
Divide stock at sale price by your average daily sale to see how many days it would last. Most general stores aim for 15–30 days. Far more means cash stuck in slow items that could pay suppliers or buy faster stock.
Stock value also goes into your zakat and your month-end profit. Munshi keeps it up to date as you buy and sell.
Quantity × cost price for each item, added together. That is the cash you have put into the shelves. At sale price, the gap is the profit still to come.
Most kiryana and general stores keep 15–30 days of sales. Much more means cash stuck in slow items; much less means empty shelves.
Stock kept for sale is counted in zakat on a business. A correct stock value makes that sum easy.
