A customer who pays Rs 1,500 a week but takes Rs 500 of new udhaar is really paying back Rs 1,000. That's why some balances never seem to go down. Put the new udhaar in the second box and the real time to clear shows up.
Agree a fixed amount and a fixed day with the customer, write it in the khata, and send a polite reminder the day before. Small, regular payments come back far more often than one big promise.
