Sugarcane kanta slips: bhaar, khali, maunds and deductions
How a cane purchase centre or dharam kanta can weigh trolleys, work out maunds and deductions, print the slip and keep each farmer's account.

During the crushing season a cane centre can weigh hundreds of trolleys a day. Each one needs a slip the farmer trusts: loaded weight, empty weight, net cane, maunds, rate, deductions and what he will be paid. Mistakes in any one of these turn into arguments at the payment window.
Weighing a trolley
Choose the farmer, or write a new one with name, CNIC, mobile and village. A farmer with the same CNIC or mobile is found again instead of being added twice. Write the vehicle number and the first weight.
When the trolley comes back empty, it waits under Waiting for second weight on the kanta home screen. Enter the second weight and the slip is done. If both weights are known at once, enter them together. The larger is taken as loaded (bhaar) and the smaller as empty (khali), whichever came first.
Your centre's own rules
Every centre works a little differently, so these are settings, not fixed numbers:
- kg in one maund (usually 40);
- today's rate per maund;
- the deduction rule: a fixed amount, a percentage of the amount, so many rupees per maund, or a weight cut for trash and tops;
- the name printed for the deduction, such as "Authorized deductions".
They can also be changed on a single slip. A live preview shows the net kg, maunds, amount, deduction and net payable before you save.
The slip
The slip prints on an 80 mm printer in English and Urdu with the bill number, farmer, vehicle, both weights, net cane, maunds, rate, gross amount, deductions and net payable. The farmer can get the same figures on WhatsApp.
Farmers' accounts
What is not paid on the spot stays on the farmer's account. Advances given before the season are taken off later slips by themselves. The farmer list shows trolleys, maunds and what each one is owed.
Weighing only
A dharam kanta that weighs other goods for a fee can make a weighing-only slip with two weights and the fee.
The Kanta module is Rs 499 a month after the free trial. The Kanta Operator role can weigh trolleys but can't change the rate, pay farmers or cancel slips.
