A bakery or mithai shop sells two ways at once: gulab jamun and barfi by the kg, and buns, patties and pastries by the piece. Around Eid and weddings the rush doubles and mistakes in weighing and change cost real money.
What is in the Bakery / sweets list
This is the starting list Munshi adds when you choose Bakery / sweets: 30 items in 5 sections, each with its Urdu and English name and the right unit. Prices are left for you, because they differ from city to city.
| Section | Examples | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Mithai | Gulab Jamun, Barfi, Laddu, Jalebi, Ras Malai | 9 |
| Nimko | Nimko Mix, Daal Moth, Samosa, Pakoray | 4 |
| Bakery | Bread, Bun, Rusk, Biscuits, Nan Khatai | 9 |
| Cakes | Cake 1 Pound, Cake 2 Pound, Birthday Cake, Tea Cake | 4 |
| Dairy & drinks | Dahi, Milk, Lassi, Cold Drink | 4 |
You can rename, delete or add items at any time, and add a second list if you sell more than one kind of goods.
Tips for this kind of shop
- Put mithai on the kg and let the scale or the amount decide the weight, so a Rs 500 box of barfi is one tap.
- Keep cakes by pound size (1 pound, 2 pound) as separate items so their prices stay clear.
- Note the day's wastage of fresh items; over a month it shows which ones you are making too many of.
