Balance = cash price − advance. Markup is added to the balance (or the full price, as your shop does it), and the total is split over the months. The qist is rounded up to the nearest Rs 10 so it is easy to collect.
A bigger advance protects you: if the customer stops paying, less of your money is out. Many shops ask for 25–30% down and a guarantor for anything over a month's salary.
A per-month markup of 2% for 12 months is 24% in total, so check which way the customer is being quoted before you compare offers.
Balance = price − advance. Add the markup to the balance and divide by the months. Rs 1,20,000 with Rs 30,000 advance and 25% markup over 12 months is about Rs 9,380 a month.
Many shops take 25–30% down and a guarantor for anything above a month's salary. A bigger advance means less risk if payments stop.
For a flat markup, yes: 2% of the balance each month for 12 months is 24% in total. Compare offers in the same way before deciding.
