Running a shoe shop: every size and colour without the guesswork

How a footwear shop can keep stock by size and colour, print a sticker for every box, handle exchanges and reorder only the sizes that sell.

A shoe shop's stock problem is not how many pairs you have. It is how many pairs of size 8 in brown you have. One design in six sizes and three colours is eighteen different boxes, and the shelf only tells you the truth after you've climbed up to look.

Set up a design once

Add the design as a product with its price. Then open Sizes × colours and tap a ready list of sizes:

Or type your own, such as 7.5 or 40. Add the colours and Munshi makes every size and colour as its own item, sorted the way you'd read them on the shelf.

When a carton arrives

On the same screen, type how many pairs came in each size and colour, the cost per pair and the factory or dealer. Stock goes up for each box, and what you owe the dealer goes on their khata.

A sticker on every box

Print a barcode label for each size and colour. At the counter the cashier scans the box, so the bill says exactly which pair went out. No more selling a 9 as an 8 and finding the stock wrong a month later.

Exchanges

Customers try a size and come back for the next one. Take the first pair back from the bill as a return and sell the right size. Both boxes are counted correctly.

Reorder what sells

Before you call the factory, look at the stock of each design by size. Most shops find the middle sizes finish first and the very small and very large ones sit for months. Order more of the sizes that sell and fewer of the rest.

Udhaar and online

School-shoe season often runs on credit for regular families; the udhaar khata keeps track and sends reminders. If you also sell on Daraz or Shopify, the Online stores module takes those orders out of the same stock.

Choose Shoes / footwear when you sign up and the size and colour tools are switched on for you. See shoe shop software for the price.
