Distributors: routes, order bookers and van sales

Plan beats by day, let bookers take orders on their phone, load vans by stock transfer and bill from the van.

A distributor's day is split between the field and the godown. The booker is out taking orders, the van is loading for tomorrow, and the office is trying to work out who owes what. Most of the trouble comes from paper slips moving between these three.

Routes and beats

Set up routes (beats) with the day they run, the order booker and the van. Shops are put on their route, so each booker sees today's list.

The booker's phone

The Order Booker role opens a simple phone screen. At each shop the booker sees the shop's balance and books the order there. Orders are in the office the same moment.

Loading the van

A van is set up as its own small store with its own counter. It is loaded by a stock transfer from the godown, so you always know what is on the van.

Billing from the van

The salesman delivers from the van and makes the bill there, from the van's own stock. Cash collected is written against each shop. When the van comes back, its stock and cash can be checked against what was sold, and every shop's khata is already up to date.

Wholesale prices

Shops can be on different price lists, and you can make quotations and delivery challans when you need them.
