EOBI is worked out on the notified minimum wage, not on what you actually pay. The employer pays 5% and the worker 1%, so with a Rs 40,000 minimum wage that is Rs 2,000 from you and Rs 400 cut from the salary, Rs 2,400 a month per worker. The minimum wage changes with each budget and can differ by province, so always use the current notified figure.
Register your business and workers with EOBI and deposit by the due date each month. Workers then build up an old-age pension.
A provident fund is usually voluntary for small firms. Where there is one, employer and worker each put in the same share of basic pay every month, and the worker gets it all back with profit when they leave.
The employer pays 5% and the employee 1% of the notified minimum wage, not of the actual salary. On Rs 40,000 that is Rs 2,000 from the employer and Rs 400 from the employee each month.
The minimum wage notified for your province or Islamabad for the current year. It changes with the budget, so enter the current figure.
Not for most small businesses. Where there is a fund, employer and employee usually each put in the same share of basic pay, often 8.33% or 10%.
