A building material store moves heavy, high-value goods: cement by the bag, steel by the kg, bricks by the thousand. Most sales are on credit to contractors and house builders.
What is in the Building material list
This is the starting list Munshi adds when you choose Building material: 23 items in 4 sections, each with its Urdu and English name and the right unit. Prices are left for you, because they differ from city to city.
| Section | Examples | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Cement & sand | Cement, White Cement, Sand, Crush (Bajri), Bricks | 6 |
| Steel | Steel Bar 3 Sut, Steel Bar 4 Sut, Steel Bar 6 Sut, Binding Wire, Girder | 6 |
| Tiles & marble | Floor Tile, Wall Tile, Marble, Granite, Tile Bond | 6 |
| Wood & others | Door, Window, Plywood Sheet, Nails, Screws | 5 |
You can rename, delete or add items at any time, and add a second list if you sell more than one kind of goods.
Tips for this kind of shop
- Sell cement by the bag and steel by the kg; keep each steel size (sut) as its own item.
- Each contractor and house gets a khata with every delivery on it.
- Note the delivery and the vehicle on the bill so disputes are easy to settle.
